Stop Talking

Today is one of those days where someone asks me a question, and
before I am finished answering that someone starts talking over me and
asking me more questions. It wouldn't be so irksome if it had only
happened once. And I wouldn't be feeling more than frustrated if that
someone was listening to me give my answer BUT that someone is
ASSUMING what my answer is going to be and just generally being a pain
in my ass.

So, my question to you is this - what is the appropriate way to deal
with this? I'm guessing that my preferred method of dealing: Slamming
my hand on my desk and yelling "STOP TALKING" is not the way to go
about ending this rude behavior.

Might as well put this out there as well in case your dad hasn't
beaten this little gem into your head from the age of 10 like mine
has:

"Never assume anything, it makes an ass out of you and me."

I'm done now.

Passive aggressive sighing, perhaps?

"Excuse me, I'll address your concerns after I finishing answering 's question."

Your post is a bit of a dejavu my dear! I talk, sometimes alot, but I also listen. I'm an interactive talker and nothing NOTHING nothing irks me more than when I've been a patient listener and can't get more than a two word reply out before INTERUPTION. Don't you wish there was some sort of red light/green light system? Sometimes, after the repeated and repeated rudeness you feel far past the 'being polite' stage.
If in doubt ... duct tape!
